Position Title: Research Coordinator
Reporting to: Principal investigators
Contract length: 12 months, 416 hours @ $30 CAD + 16% benefits), approx. 5-10 hours per week
Project description: With the Filipino-Canadian Social and Community Workers Network (FCSCWN), this SSHRC-funded project is a virtual community knowledge mobilization and outreach initiative that will expand and magnify research and practice-oriented dialogues among Filipino/a/x social work scholars, students, service providers, and community organizers across provinces and territories. These engagements will take place on a dynamic website, or an Interactive Digital Platform (IDP); a repository for outputs generated for the project. Our main knowledge mobilization focus is a podcast series that centers the emerging concerns of Filipino/a/x social work and social provision practitioners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing communication and coordination of IDP, podcast series, and virtual summit
- Planning for and organizing meetings and other logistics, including file management, confirming accuracy of meeting minutes, action items, and follow-ups
- Co-supervising and coordinating project team
- Supporting principal investigator(s)
- Liaising with website and digital outreach coordinator
- Preparing final report and supporting any related publications
Qualifications:
- Graduate degree
- Preference for PhD student in Social Work, Education, or a related discipline
- Preference for Filipino/a/x applicant
- Relevant research and practice experience and demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent written, analytical and oral communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and/or speak a Philippine language is a plus

- Designing and updating website and maintaining the IDP
- Planning and producing digital / social media outreach for podcast series and virtual summit
- Developing membership directory
- Developing podcast series/learning resources repository
- Conducting ongoing in-person and/or digital outreach and communications with members and general public, as needed
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate, Master’s, or PhD students and recent graduates in social work, digital media, communications, design, and related studies encouraged to apply
- Preference for Filipino/a/x applicant
- Relevant research and practice experience and demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent written, analytical and oral communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and/or speak a Philippine language is a plus

- Storyboarding, recording and editing podcast episodes
- Member checking and publishing podcast with speakers
- Creating content for website and social media (Facebook, Youtube, Instagram)
- Disseminating project events, opportunities, and outputs to relevant community groups (in-person or virtual)
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree
- Preference for student with strong proficiency with creating multimedia materials
- Preference for Filipinx applicant
- Relevant research and practice experience and demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a collaborative environment
- Excellent written, analytical and oral communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and/or speak a Philippine language is a plus

- Excellent written, analytical and oral communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and/or speak a Philippine language is a plus
